Funerals

In the first instance, funeral arrangements should be made with the chosen Funeral Director. There will always be a church minister available to take the service at a mutually agreeable time and date.

The funeral service provides an opportunity to give thanks for your loved one, to remember his/her life, to grieve and comfort one another, and to commit your loved one into God’s mercy and grace.

One of the ministers associated with Pakefield Church will want to visit the family to arrange the details of the service. As much as possible we want to provide a service that you want. It will include an eulogy, a bible reading, hymns and prayers. If you want there will be an opportunity for the family or friends to share memories and to say their goodbyes. It is possible to have music from cd’s as well as from the organ.

If the funeral service is followed by a cremation it is possible to have the Committal at the Crematorium or at the door of the church. If you prefer the latter it enables the family to remain with the mourners rather than travelling some distance to take part in the Committal. Whatever you decide
