Once again our Events Committee came up with a winner! Over 65 of us got our ‘little grey cells’ working on Saturday 15th October at our Harvest Supper and Quiz evening.
The evening began with Bob giving thanks, before we all tucked into a very tasty fish and chip supper enjoyed in a very traditional way – eating it out of the box – although plates – and knives and forks were on offer to those who preferred it! This was followed by a lovely apple crumble and cream, all accompanied by the variety of drinks brought along by the participants. These included tonic water, wine, fruit juice, sparkling water, and banana beer – yes, banana beer!
This was followed by a challenging and interesting quiz with 2 picture pages and then other sections loosely based around a hymn for the season, with the raffle being called during a half way break.
Pat Durrance supplied the questions for the quiz, plus she had on sale this year’s ‘Fire-side quiz’ at a cost of £1.00 each in aid of church funds (this can now be bought in church).
As well as a big thank you to Pat, thanks were also given to the members of the Events Committee and others who had helped them in making this a very enjoyable evening!
And finally, £179.00 was raised to give to a local cause.
Below a picture of one of the teams competing, though unfortunately not the winners!
